Wallpaper has been making a resurgence lately in the world of design. Once regarded as out of date and tacky it is now considered hip and fashionable. Especially with the help from designer wallpaper boutiques sprouting up like Walnut Wallpaper in Los Angeles. But now we can add Kredema Design from Sweden to the list of wallpapers reinvigorators. With their new line titled appropriately “Off The Wall” your wall paper takes on a functional three dimensional shape. They have created several different off the wall shapes to create shelves, book holders and sconces in the most strikingly subtle fashion. I guess wallpaper is going to have to stay en vogue for at least a few more years…

People ask me all the time what my style is. It’s such an interesting question because most people like more than just one thing. It’s like asking someone what their favorite movie is. That’s just a really hard question. So I started thinking about what people mean when they ask that question and I have rephrased it for them into something interesting:
If you had unlimited money how would you design your home?
Well here you go:

If I had unlimited money this is close to what my house would look like. I have always been a fan of the “High-Tech” style of the 1970’s, including people like Richard Rogers, Norman Foster and Michael Hopkins. Especially the Hopkins House (1976). This example plays homage to the High-Tech style through the use of exposed air-ducts and industrial lighting fixtures. But mostly I love the uncluttered minimalist design. I have always wanted a large open space filled with only a few select things. Also, my style wouldn’t be complete without concrete floors. To me, there is just something magical about concrete.
So, here is the challenge for you. What one photograph best represents YOUR style?
Get back to me.

I think I just did. Inovaxion’s WoodStation clock has such a minimalist design I feel like it is a must have for my minimalist apartment. Made and distributed exclusively from France I don’t think you will find this in stores anywhere soon but luckily you can easily buy it online for $175 (yikes.)

The clock looks like a simple piece of wood to the untrained eye, however when you wave your hand across the front the LED lights from behind the wooden veneer snap into action to give you the local forecast, temperature and time. Not the cheapest digital clock in the world, but then again this thing is all about the design. I’ve seen other people online claiming this clock is for children, but those people are crazy, this clock is for anyone with a good eye!
